The following messages sprang from my own need for premarital counseling guidelines. Which, by the way, are extremely hard to find in our local Christian bookstores. My prayer is that this material will be used, reproduced, edited, improved upon, tried and tested, by pastors, teachers and couples facing the need for true Biblical counseling on “how to” be a family that is pleasing to God. God has a plan for each one of us. His plans are often contrary to the plans laid out by the world’s philosophy, our own ideas, even many ministers thoughts, but His plans are always better for us than our own will ever be. A question has arisen about why I would include the message on “Workplace Relationships.” I hope that it will become crystal clear, that our relationships across the board affect every area of our lives, especially the relationship with our spouses.
I have had the pleasure of preaching through this passage of scripture, as I preached through the book of Ephesians, at TEAM Missions in Knoxville TN. I believe God has used His Word to enhance the lives of many married couples and many more who will marry someday. There are basically 6 sections that are addressed in this passage. They are; marriage, husbands, wives, parents, children and relationships in the workplace. Please allow me the pleasure of praying over this set of messages once again.
“Father, Our Father, Our Abba Father, thank You for showing us the way to successful relationships. Of all the relationships that boggle the mind, none compares to the relationship You have with us. You came, You gave, You sought us out, You left the glories of Heaven, You humbled Yourself, You sacrificed, You submitted Yourself to death, even death on the cross. Father often we look at submission as a dirty word, one that shows weakness and even cowardess. But that is impossible, because You submitted Yourself and You have never been weak nor have you ever been a coward. Therefore, teach us to submit one to another in the fear of God.
Please take these words that are written down and use them for Your honor and Your glory. May Your blessing rest upon each page, each paragraph, each sentence, each word. May this sing Your praises to the heavens above! Amen.”
