Basically this site is about encouragement and edification, how that is accomplished varies from time to time though. This week’s post is a example of trying to do something different to accomplish our same normal site goals. Instead of sharing thoughts from our own mind about God, the things of God, the Christian life, etc we decided to share lyrics from one of our favorite songs - Heads I Win, Tails You Lose - by my favorite band - Tourniquet. Hopefully as you read these lyrics they will work on your heart like they work on mine every time I hear the song. --------------
words and music by Ted Kirkpatrick / Tourniquet -------------- There really are few songs that drive me to think about my relationship with God more then that one. It reminds me to never forsake God, cling to Him in the tough times, remember that He is the one doing the work, He is the source of all that I am, all that I have, and all that I can become. Those are humbling thoughts, but ones that are needed many times in all our lives. Those are also the core things required to maintaining a proper relationship with God, i.e. that it is about Him, for Him and through Him that I live. Simple, He is my sustainer, He is my hope, but most of all He is my redeemer. We get so caught up in what WE are doing, who WE are, what WE have, where WE go, where WE have been, etc. In doing that we are lying to ourselves about the entire thing. The real truth of it is that everything is from God and only possible due to and through God. Without Him we are nothing, and with Him we are capable of all things that are within His will. The blood of Christ redeems all that it touches. I pray today that the blood of Christ has cleansed your sins and that you are spending eternity in Heaven. If you have questions about here to do that go here. I know this has been a different type of post, but in the end I hope it challenges your heart to give up more of yourself and get more of God. He is truly there no matter what and He has never lost a one that came to Him. As Darrel Evens put it in his song - Trading My Sorrows --------------
-------------- Have a great day, stay strong, be courageous, and serve God in all things. |
