A third benefit of following God is His rewards. God promises that He will provide all your need. Give you sufficient means for all He wants you to accomplish. He also promises you rewards for service. These may or may not be visible on earth, but they are beneficial for you. Allowing God to lead while you follow Him will better position you to do His will. By doing His will you will get the benefit of being a important part of the body of Christ. Sometimes the rewards are physical (new job, new home, etc.), but many times are the emotional and spiritual (happiness vs despair, contentment vs want, resolution vs on going conflict, pleasure vs pain, relaxation vs stress, order vs chaos) These benefits come from God, not from your work, your money, your talents, your education, that is not do say God does not and will not work through your state (job, family, education, money, talents) but He blesses them and uses them for His glory, not for yours. This change in focus allows you to be not be self focused, but to be God focused. The third part of my per posed personal viewpoint is the area of prayer for those opposed to God and us. Christ tells us to pray for our enemies, and the Bible tells us that showering our enemies with love and care is like heaping coals on their heads. Christ has already died, risen and has been called to Heaven to be at the right hand of the Father. His death and resurrection permanently defeated death, hell, and the grave. This sacrifice was meant to save us from the consciences of our sins, and allow us to live forever in heaven. That means that all that do not follow Him are destined to hell. Romans 6:19-23 and John 3:16-17 clearly tell us of our sin nature, its results, and the purpose of Christ’s time on earth. God want’s to save all of humanity, and His desire is that none shall perish. We (Christians) are His hands and feet on earth, so it is our duty to be used by God to bring those that oppose Him to points of repentance and to help to guide them to right relationship with God. Alone we can not do this, we must have God’s power behind us. The best way to do this is to pray. When we do this we are mighty and we command large forces of angels. We should never desire to see others reject God, rebel against Him, or even hope that they die and go to Hell. I am sure you are saying that you do not do those things, but think about your actions, your motivations, your habits. It may be not be intentionally, but your actions may be telling some that you hope that they spend eternity in Hell. Ask yourself what your daily actions, attitudes and decisions about others really are hoping to accomplish. It is most likely unintentionally, but today your actions, attitudes and habits may be helping some to attain Hell instead of Heaven. Think about what you do and how those acts are really motivated. If they are wrongly motivated or if they are self focused then they are not God’s will. He wants all to follow Him. We are not the judges of humanity, God is and before we were saved we were just as bad (if not worse) then any that we decide not to help or pray for. We take the position that this person or that person is not worthy of prayer or not worthy of our time or not worthy of heaven. Those are not God’s views, they are ours and ours alone. So, I challenge you today to help someone that you normally would not, pray for those that are opposing you, and work to be God’s hands and feet to those that are attacking God and His work. If God loves those that oppose Him, so should you because it is Him that they are ultimately trying to destroy That means that you should be concerned about the eternity of that person that attacks you, that person or group that confronts you, and that person that opposes you. This does not mean you should not defend yourself, or protect yourself, it just means you should stand for right and no waiver. Those that fight for wrong will be shown to be the wrong, God assures us of that, but as they oppose us we should pray for them to leave their wrong views and come to those that are right, true and just. Prayer is more powerful then any human force. Rest
assured that when you attacked God is with you, He will defend you.
He will be the correct judge and never fail to be right. Stay strong,
pray hard, and take the challenge to let God lead, follow Him where
He goes, and pray for those that oppose you to come to a right relationship
with God. God will be pleased with you and He will provide all that
you need, just trust Him and let Him be Lord.
