This week’s note is small, light and airy, much like the topic this week. This note comes from a conversation between one of Team Swap’s directors and his beautiful wife and her beautifully warped mind. They were discussing a upcoming real world ministry (Judgement House) that Team Swap is working on. One scene in the Judgement House is Hell, and one of the smells that has been chosen to be used in that scene is burnt popcorn. While discussing burnt popcorn the director’s wife made an interesting point - “We are all really just spiritual popcorn kernels.” When she first said it he took a double take toward her, and she went on to explain what she meant. What she meant was that we are all just spiritual kernels, and when we get heated up we either expand / explode to meet the challenge or we do nothing and burn up. God call and will is the applied heat when you think of it. He touches us all, just like heat touches all the popcorn kernels in the pot - the difference is the response. Some expand to their potential, which is accepting Christ and being saved - which is also God’s desire, and others do nothing and just get burned up and smelly. That may not be the most advanced explanation of accepting God, or rejecting God, but it does give a nice visual to what we hold within us. Within us all, via God, there is enough potential to expand to our maximum size and ability. By doing that we are all we can be, and we will be a blessing to all that we come into contact with. Our expansion is not based on how close or far we are to the other kernels, it is based on the potential that already existed within us. Many times we will find ourselves being the lone popped kernel in the area, but that does not make our potential or our call any less, just a bit more obvious. The unfortunate thing is that unlike physical popcorn where 90%+ of the kernels pop, 90%+ of the humans that meet God today do not explode in God. The majority of humans act like the 10% of physical popcorn kernels that do not pop. They do nothing and just burn up and smell bad. Even sadder is that fact that some that are just burning up and smelling are in church every Sunday. We know this week’s note was not deep, but hopefully it gave you one more visual of God and what He does in and for us. All of us at Team Swap know that popcorn looks different to us now since this conversation occurred. Have a great day and know that God is not calling you to do anything that He has not already equipped you to accomplish. Also be sure that you are not sitting in church and smelling the joint up. If you are, or if you are not sure, pray and get right with God. He is the good father and He is waiting to save or restore you at this very moment. Accepting and living for Christ is the most important thing you can do in your life, do not wait to decide until it is too late. If you prayed and accepted Christ, or if you read this and it impacted you, please contact Team Swap where we can 1) rejoice with yourself and the angels in Heaven, and 2) share your change with all our other visitors via a praise on our prayer page. Please know as well that we are here anytime to answer questions or help with issues in your life. Email us at webmaster@team-swap.com and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
