HD DVD Update
The HD DVD standard - supported by Tosihba / NEC - got a big boost against the Blu Ray Standard that Sony and other comptuer manufacters support today when some major studio’s promised to release movies on the HD DVD standard by late next year. A additional advantage for HD DVD is that the reader will be backward compatible with current DVD standards. Some argue that the computer, not the home player will be the driving force for the next generation of DVD’s, if that is so then many feel that the Blu Ray technology will eventually win out.
