Blog Pride
Blogger’s in general have a issue that some other Christians do not. By nature those that blog are outgoing people. Maybe we are not those that take over a room when we enter, but we are people that want to be heard. We want our views, opinions, and ideas to be heard. If we did not we would not blog. We are probably the people that write our leaders, attend local meetings, and have strong opinions that our friends and relations all know about. In the end, it is simple many blog because they want others to read / hear their views and opinions. IF you look a bit deeper, it seems that many bloggers are pastors or teachers when they are away from their keyboards, so really blogging is just a extension of what they already do in their lives.
The problem that comes with these kinds of activities (teaching, writing, preaching, leading, blogging) is that we usually get told how much someone, or some group, liked or enjoyed our lesson, sermon, post, etc. Sure we all get some negative feedback, but at the end of the day the majority of us get more positive feedback then negative or we would likely stop doing this. The problem with getting good feedback and support, is that praise can lead to pride, and God hates pride.
Pride is, and will continue to be, one of the main causes of people fallen away from God’s will. Now we all need to be encouraged and supported, but we must be sure that we do not let it go to our heads where we begin to think that we are better or smarter or whatever over someone else. Weather you get 2 hits or 22000 hits a day, God is still in charge of your ministry and work, and for you to succeed LONG term that is how it will have to stay.
This is not meant to be a negative post, just one that makes us all think. It seems that many blogs get more involved with their own issues, their own goals, then the issues and goals of God and this is just meant as a personal check to the Christian blogsphere.
