Ipod Phones
Nokia is rolling out a new line / series of phones, several include 2 megapixel camaras, and one includes a 4GB hard drive for carrying music. Nokia hopes this will allow them to get some of the Ipod business from Apple. The N series phones with Carl Zeiss lens and G3 and wireless connectivity are being marketed a luxury solution to Nokia users that have seen high resolution on competitor’ phones. The first phones should be out by the second quarter, but the ipod competitor phone is slated for late this year, but before Christmas. The telling information is this statement though -
The hard disk-based music phone would have been launched sooner but Nokia is still working with Microsoft and its online partner OD2 to develop a music download service for mobile devices, Vanjoki told Reuters in an interview.
“But it will be this year. We’re not going to miss Christmas,” he said.
Microsoft can limit innovation by doing nothing better then any company in the world, and when the Nokia phone gets the BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death) because the cut down windows media player that Microsoft will probably require Nokia to use will not read a certain mp3 because it was not download from OD2 then users will find just one more reason to avoid Microsoft.
