Joel Fuhrmann over at Right Left Whatever had a post almost a month ago that we just came across. Joel attempts to address the issue that many have contended that Christians should be for national health care, higher minimum wage laws, and other similar government programs because they benefit humanity. Give this one a read and really think and pray about it as it deals with a subject that few Christians really think about - the line between public and private aid and what God calls His people to do for others and how He would have them do it. This is a very thought provoking piece.

We posted yesterday about a missing girl, Cheryl Ann Magner, in Marin County,, CA - she is still missing and she has not been seen since June. We are still encouraging people to be looking for her no matter where you are -

She is 17, 5′8″ and 140lbs. Again she has not been seen since early June and then she was in Marin County, CA. She could be anywhere by now.

Big Daddy Weave is playing the Knoxville Christian Center on August 12th at 7 PM - Link Here I would encourage anyone that is looking for a night of quality spirit inspired music that is anywhere in or around Knoxville to make this show. I know that a long time personal friend of this site Dave M and his family will be there as Dave views Big Daddy and a chance to see them like I personally view a Tourniquet show - i.e. short of a HUGE emergency or a limb missing I will be there. So if for no other reason then to see Dave M rock out go to the show.

In addition to the issue discussed below - the attack on La Shawn Barber via a mock site - La Shawn also has a interesting post today about how one member of the blogsphere is saying that main stream media should not be allowed to blog because they already have a means of sharing their views - be it print or radio / TV broadcast. I think La Shawn’s view is correct on this topic, i.e that all are welcome in the blogosphere even if they have other means of sharing their views. To limit who can and can not blog is no different then the situation/s that caused the concept of blogging to arise. People were frustrated due to the limited access to a means of broadcast, so a means arose that was not restricted. If people really want to share their views via a blog they should be, and are by me at least, welcome even if their blog is not their main or primary means of sharing their views. Long live blog freedom and access to blogging for all.

Now we understand about poltical humor, spoofs, etc, but this is a low blow. These are not attacks about poltics, but about La Shawn personally. This is uncalled for and we would be just as offended if similar attackes were aimed at people we disagreed with politically. Attacks like this just show that you can not discuss or debate the issues intelligently so you must use personal attacks. Shameless. If you agree with us that this is a shameless attack be sure to send La S hawn a supportive email.

Leave it to the Aussie’s to not mess around. A Australian company called Metal Storm has developed what is considered the world’s most deadly gun. It is a stacked barrel system that has few moving parts, does not require ammo feeds or breeches and it can discharge - in theory - one million rounds in a minute. Yes that is right one million. It is designed to help with close quarter’s urban warfare and against terrorist strongholds. It can bring down a building. WOW!!! It can also be used for non lethal systems for ground disperal and riot control.

Testing has already begun and the they say that there are plans to use it in Iraq and other theatres at some point. Again I say - WOW!!!
