Who can and can’t blog?

In addition to the issue discussed below - the attack on La Shawn Barber via a mock site - La Shawn also has a interesting post today about how one member of the blogsphere is saying that main stream media should not be allowed to blog because they already have a means of sharing their views - be it print or radio / TV broadcast. Full post / story here

I think La Shawn’s view is correct on this topic, i.e that all are welcome in the blogosphere even if they have other means of sharing their views. To limit who can and can not blog is no different then the situation/s that caused the concept of blogging to arise. People were frustrated due to the limited access to a means of broadcast, so a means arose that was not restricted. If people really want to share their views via a blog they should be, and are by me at least, welcome even if their blog is not their main or primary means of sharing their views. Long live blog freedom and access to blogging for all.
