The Reality vs The Goal
I yearn to have a life like this - calm and mellow, avoiding all the rocks and roughness that is around me.

Yet at times, like this week, I seem to have is a life like this - rough, wild, and brutal

We have all had such weeks and it is times like this that I value my relationship with Christ the most. He truly is a safe habor in a stormy world. It is times like this taht make me look to the truth of the old hymn - It Is Well With My Soul
When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.
It is well, with my soul,
It is well, with my soul,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.
Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
Let this blest assurance control,
That Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
And hath shed His own blood for my soul.
It is well, with my soul,
It is well, with my soul,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.
My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!
My sin, not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!
It is well, with my soul,
It is well, with my soul,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.
Hopefully today, this week, etc your life is nice and calm, but most of all I pray that it is well with your soul today.
