Men and the church
Bowden McElroy, Counseling Notes, recently changed his blog software, host, etc. Due to the changes, Bowden is redeploying his older posts on his new blog. That caused a post regarding Men and The Church from April of this year to reappear with a new link address. We found the new link, which lead us to read his post again this AM. After completeing it, we thought it may be a good post for a other Christian and church leaders to re-read as we move into the fall. So, we decided to link back to it.
Bowden offers some real world suggestions in ways to minister to men. He looks at a debate that was going on at the time, including linking to three sites (including this one - our post here) that were discussing men and the church at the time. After discussing and analysising those posts, Bowden begins to share his views. He brings some great advice, as well a great personal story about how a church “reached men” but had the wrong motives in doing it. Good stuff, good advice, and well worth a re-read. Thanks for the link! I thought I was just showing my technological ineptitude; I didn’t realize I was creating a new audience for old ramblings.

That is the great thing about blogging…your stuff just pops up again and again as people do searchs, etc. I get one or two links every month for stuff I wrote months back. I guess our “paper trials” will keep us from ever being on the Supreme Court, regardless of the poltical leanings of the president at the moment..oh well that is one more career path that is cappped permanantly (like pro athlete, “professional” journalist, and in my case church jobs that require tolerance of ineffective leadership ..** LOL **).
