Post Office Complaint #2

The crack young staff of the Hatemonger’s Quarterly launch today what can only be described a the perfect follow up to our post about the post office a few weeks ago - Stupid USPS policy - in their post titled The US Post Office

We believe the crack young staff must live near us as they seem to be going to the same post office we do, and have the same mailperson delivering their packages. We personally get our daily correspondence around 5:15 to 5:30, not bad I guess, except for the fact that we are in the MIDDLE of our mailperson’s run. Some poor shlep on the other side of the tracks, literally in our case as a railroad does run through the route in question, must be getting mail about 8PM. I am sure Buster the dog and Billy the kid both love going out to the mailbox at 8PM to see if Mable the Mail Lady deemed their street worthy today.

I guess I should not complain though as I once lived in a place where you only got mail every other day - right side of the street Monday, Wednesday, Friday, left side of the street - Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday. I know this to be a fact because the local mass mailed coupon flyer (read 100 pizza coupons, two Chinese places, and a oil change place) hung out of everyone’s boxes when they were delivered, and you could see that one side of the street got theirs one day and the next day the other side got theirs.

So, I guess that I should not complain no since where I live now gets mail EVERYDAY…..oh wait…that is right I pay the salaries of the USPS, and for maintenance of their vehicles, etc, with my taxes. That is right I shall complain and continue too as long as I see government inefficiency flourish because of lack of competition and motivation. Even though some think that the government owns all the money and is kind enough to let me keep some occasionally I do not hold such a view, and will continue to complain when I see my money wasted and used badly. I still say let DHL, UPS, and FedEx into the mail business and the USPS will be gone in under 10 years.
