Where is the French coverage?
As the Paris riots have now gone almost a week I have been surprised just how little news has come out about this story. Over the last few days the coverage has increased, and most stories do know note that the riots began due to the death of some young Muslims that were eletrocuted while running / hiding from the police.
My point is that after a week if riots were on between Muslims and the police in Chicago, Seattle, or even London, it would be the LEAD story and get more then 30 seconds of coverage. Where are the in-depth reports? Where is the expert analysis? Where are the questions of how such a peace loving people could have this happen to them? Where are the on site reporters? Where are the pieces about how this will encourage revolts worldwide? Where are the calls for investigation? Why is the response of the Paris police not questioned? Where is the call for international aid (as it seems the French can not take care of it)? Why? When? …
Apparently I am not the only person / blogger asking these questions or having these thought, as I found similar questions and some answers to the above issues at posts at Daisy Cutter, Six Meat Buffet, Euphoric Reality - ER also has a post about similar riots in Denmark , and Sigmund, Carl and Alfred.
The Politburo Diktat got in on it as well - here.
