Term Limits
Michael Silence, from No Silence Here / The Knoxville News Sentinel, has two great pieces / blog compilations on the fact that 12 out of 19 Knox County commissionaires can not run again due to a term limits law that was found legal by the Tennessee state supreme court yesterday. Of course this is only relative to Knox County in East TN because we voted for home rule back in the 90’s. The most interesting person to watch in this case will be Tim Hutchinson, Knox C County sheriff, who is arguing that the decision only impacts those that are not mandated in the state constitution. Time will tell, but that looks like a uphill argument to me.
