Humility, praise and you

John T Brown from Scotwise has a excellent post today about the true and needed nature of humility within the life of the believer, which when properly applied to our life will lead us to praise God and all that He has done / is doing for us.

As John points out, he/me/we should view ourselves as the least amongst the disciples, the lowest of the saints, and the greatest of all sinners. I personally have taught for over 18 years that Paul, who calls himself the greatest of all sinners, would have to change his text if he meet me personally. I know I am a sinner. That fact leads me back to God, and His forgiveness OVER and OVER and OVER. I say this not out of pride, but out of necessity. I wish I did not need God, and that I could fix my own life, but it is just not possible. I need God, I need restoration, I need His guidance, I need His love, I need His care, and my sinful nature constantly reminds me of those facts.

The nature of the believer should be one of humility. We all fall short of that at times. Once we see the errors of our ways, it should cause us to humble ourselves once again, thus leading us to a place where we can rise from our prayers / confession and begin to praise and adore God.

I would urge you to give this post a read, and then pray about how you can make yourself the humble believer in Christ that you are called to be. Such action will then lead you to a point of praise and adoration. John’s post here
