Armstrong Found Clean - Updated & Expanded
For those that missed the announcement yesterday, and our post about it, Lance Armstrong - 7 time winner of the Tour De France - has been cleared of all doping charges.
Updates and stories - here, here, here, here, and, here. On a personal note I love the fact in the ABC (ESPN’s parent) story - the last link above - used a old byline - 5 time winner Lance Armstrong - in their story. One would think they would update that, oh well I guess they are busy with the Jolie - Pitt’s single handedly saving Namibia - post here.
Of course L’Equip is standing by their story and “facts” - story here and here, and WADA and Dick Pound are denying the report as being truthful - story here and here
Simply Armstrong has been cleared and the charges dropped by the UCI - cycling’s governing body. That leaves only two options, he is either clean or he is the best cheater in the history of cycling. L’Equipe, LeTour Assoc. and WADA argue the second, and question the ability of the former head of the Dutch anti doping union to evaluate the French lab that reached the conclusion that Armstrong doped in 1999. The rest of cycling seems to favor the first conclusion. Each person will have to make their own mind up about which Armstrong is.
