Ullrich & T-mobile part offically.

Well T-Mobile avoided a trip to court over firing Jan Ullrich before any charges or proof was provided yesterday by reaching a deal with undisclosed terms. This is the way I always figuired it would wind up if Operation Porto did not produce charges against Ullrich, which it has not done as of yet. Ullrich had a contract with T-mobile through the end of the year, they terminated him without cause and on mere heresey. He is going to sue over that.

Bottomline, I am not sure Ullrich is clean, but I know that he would have won in court. T-mobile knew that too and cut a deal to avoid the court fees, etc. I think this will also be the end of Ullrich’s career and I do not think anyone else will risk taking him at the price he would want and he is not motivated to go work below his value to prove a point. I think Ullrich offcially retires before Christmas.

This is a tough way for a great career to end, but it is time. One TDF win, five seconds in the greatest cycling race in the world, and numerous other awards and medals. Simply Ullrich will survive and he will be around cycling for awhile. His on the road, and off the bike - including his weight, exploits will be talked about for a long time to come.
