Last Monday we posted about Freddy T’s possible run for president. (post here).

A week later and I think that Fred T does NOT run. That call is not made because of lack of public demand, lack of skill or ability on Thompson’s part, or because of issues about Thompson personally or his political stands. I think it is one simple thing that assures Fred Thompson will NOT run. He does not want it bad enough.

That is not a knock on Thompson either. It is simply I do not think that Fred Thompson wants to spend the next 18 or so months traveling, being away from home, raising money (with 100 million being the MINIMUM needed to run), and doing the things that it takes to win. If you don’t want to do those things you can not be president.

Thompson does not seem to really want to play politics at this point either. He does not seem to yearn for the battle or the life changes that it requires. Again, those are not knocks on Thompson those are simply acknowledging that I personally think the guy has other priorities.
