Real Life Tech Support

Real Life Comics had a great post on Wednesday about how tech support was back in the late 90’s and how it still fills today at times.

Real Life Comics - March 28th, 2007

On a personal note I spend 30 minutes earlier this week on the phone with someone having them copy ONE file from their desktop to their jump drive. The total call time for the project - to move the file from one machine to another and then install the update (clicking on ONE self installing file) - took 1 hour and 45 minutes. He concluded the call by telling me that the next time he did it, which will be in a few months, he would call me back where I could walking him through it STEP by STEP AGAIN!! That is the stuff that equal HANGING times for me.
