Ron Paul, 9/11, & Political Polls

Today The Hatemongers Quarterly, published daily, decided to take at look at the idea that Iraq was not associated with the 9/11 bombing. In doing so THQ pulled in and analyzed the candidacy of Ron Paul. Like or dislike Paul this is a interesting read. Full Post Here

  1. What THQ fails to mention is that anyone who ACTUALLY LOOKS INTO Paul’s position on the issue knows that he’s talking about much more than simply our bombing of Iraq. While Giuliani may have opportunistically jumped on the fact that Paul only mentioned the bombing, he conveniently ignored the point of what Paul was trying to say. For example, Paul and I are on the same page in terms of the effects, intentional or otherwise, that our foreign policy has on how the Muslim world reacts to us - and not just current policy, guys! Paul likes to mention our government’s participation in the overthrow of the democratically-elected Iranian Prime Minister, Dr. Mosaddeq, way back in the day as just one example of what he’s talking about. Anyone unfamiliar with our history in Iran seriously needs to check it out. This stuff comes back to haunt us in one way or another, folks. If we truly want to protect American interests both here and abroad, we simply cannot ignore the consequences of chess moves we made over a half a century ago.

  2. As you probably know by now, we link to posts that we think people should read, not just ones that we think are well researched or balanced. There are a lot of links on this blog to things that we personally disagree with. Many times it is just as interesting to read a post that is one sided, agree or disagree, as to read one that is balanced that way you can see what the extremes on either side are saying. Of course we probably read about 50 different posts a day, and only link to a few as most are just rehashes of the same thoughts, etc.

As always thanks for posting and commenting. Your comments are always insightful and well researched, i.e. worth reading and considering. Your point about Dr. Mosaddeq is excellent as well, though personally I think most of the RADICAL Muslims (not all mind you)that oppose us for being strong, not for what we did or did not do in the past. Those in that camp would be angry at us, regardless of what we do.

  3. “Those in that camp would be angry at us, regardless of what we do.”

Agreed. Once they’ve reached that point, there’s really nothing we can do but hunt them down and kill them. That being said, I think it’s in our best interest to do what we can to STOP contributing to conditions that may help in the recruitment of such radicals. I think that’s kinda what Paul is trying to say.
