Cuppy’s Coffee
Well Knoxville has a new coffee drive thru. This one is on Western Ave, near 640 - in front of TN School of Beauty, and has the claim to fame of being a DUAL (two window) DRIVE THRU to provide faster service. The place is called Cuppy’s. Cuppy’s is also suppose to be a bit more price sensitive then (rymhes with FOUR BUCKS) and offer fresher coffee.
Anyway, Cuppy’s on Western opened yesterday - everything was half price all day and they had a radio remote -, so I decided to give it a try, even though I am NOT a coffee drinker. They mentioned on the radio that they also had smoothies (which I like) and frozen hot chocolate (which sounded good to me). So even though I don’t drink coffee - their primary product - I decided to give them a go due to their other offerings.
I arrived and was the third car back on one side. There were three cars in the other line as well, so the lines were equal in length. The van that was at the window in my line seemed to have been there a while as the van was in park (i.e. not on the brakes). I decided I would time my experience at that point. Thirteen minutes later I got to the window. The third car in the other line got to that window about a minute ahead of me, so both lines were roughly the same speed. Yes Earl, that is right they do have two windows, but apparently only one register and only one person making drinks. I know that personally one person took my order, another took my money (a few minutes later), and a third get me my drink - a large frozen hot chocolate normally $4.25 but only $2.12 yesterday. Entire time from the time I got in line until I got my drink and pulled away from the window - seventeen minutes.
Bottom line the drink was good, the service was slow and the prices for smoothies and coffee and other things seemed to be right in line with other similar places. Nothing exceptional here, nothing to brag about, the drinks are descent, but the service is slow. My view skip it and go to Pilot / Wiegels for a quick drink or go to FOUR BUCKS where you can get quicker service and similar quality drinks at the same price.

Had the same experience here when the new Cuppy’s opened. So I skipped it for a while and one day I just wanted something different. 5 cars ahead of me and I’m thinking it was going to be about 30 minutes before I got to the window. Single drive thru window so I’m stuck. Anyway it was about 7-8 minutes later I was at the window. The coffee was good and the speed had improved dramatically. I thought it was a fluke so I went the next day and to my surprise I was at the window in no time. What I’m saying is that being new to open I guess there may have been some delay. Your Cuppy’s should have their act together by now…go by and check it out. I was pleasantly surprised, maybe you will too.

thanks for the info. We will try to give them another run. I know they opened another one out on Chapman Hwy (South Knoxville), but I am rarely out there. I may give them another go Friday or Saturday AM.
Thanks again for the info and for commenting.
