Casa Don Gallo
Well I tried a new, new to me at least, restaurant over the weekend. It was Casa Don Gallo near the corner of Morrell and Northshore in Knoxville, and they serve “authentic Mexican”.
The food was well prepared, the service was excellent, the prices were good, but the portions were a bit small. I had a #4 and a coke, my bill was about $9.75. Not bad for a sit down restaurant. I will definitely go back and I would definitely tell my friends and family to eat there. My only knock was that the #4 came with one taco, one enchilada, and one chile con queso. I think it should have had a second taco or a larger chile con queso. I only say this because I still wanted ice cream (yeah Brusters) when I finished eating. For less then $10 though I really can’t complain too much though, though I know I could have gone to El Charro and gotten more food, equal in quality, for the same price. El Charro does not have a patio though and I love patio dining in the summer.
Bottom line, go to Casa Don Gallo and enjoy it. You will NOT be disappointed, and their service is great. Just be sure to plan to have dessert afterward.
4 1/2 out of 5 in my book.
