Nothing better then a quiet Monday

Filed under: Current / General, Faith, Personal permalinktrackback — Team Swap @ 9:35 am

After the last two weeks of real world work stress, a dog that had to have emergency surgury and that is still healing, a week in a walking boot due to a foot injury, and normal life stresses somehow Monday looks nice as nothing big looks on the horizon today.

God really can be found in the rough times of life. He truly shows up and blesses when the times are tough. It really takes rough times for us to see the little daily blessings that go unnoticed until the rough times. These are things in the end though that are vital to our survival. You can really find God in trials. It is just sad that so many of us never notice the little blessings until they all we have to look forward too.

Floyd Landis’s final trial started last Wednesday and ended today. VeloNews has a nice story on it. Story Here The case will likely be decided in June. Regardless of the outcome this has been a LONG trail. Landis’s ban ends next January regardless. Even if he wins this case I doubt he will get this TDF title back.

Good Friday

Filed under: Current / General, Faith, History, Personal permalinktrackback — Team Swap @ 6:36 am

We at Swap Blog and Team Swap want to wish all our visitors a great Good Friday and we pray that we all remember that today is not about a day off or a sale at the store, but about Christ WILLINGLY going to the cross to pay for ALL the sins of the world, including yours and mine. His death to pay the sentence for my sins would have been a great story in itself, but the great news is that three days later He rose - defeating death, hell and the grave forever.

It is wonderful that we all know that the story ends with Christ’s resurrection, but it is vital to remember why and for what He died to begin with, and that is for MY SINS, YOUR SINS, and ALL THE OTHER SINS IN THE WORLD.

Today remember to be thankful for all that Christ did for you on a Roman cross, and rejoice in the fact that your sins are paid for.

Meaningful Work

Filed under: Personal permalinktrackback — Team Swap @ 6:37 am

This week I have been doing a lot of stuff that I have never had to do before. I am far from the routine life and life pattern that I have had for the last few years. Much of the work and my time has been stressful and tough, but it has all been meaningful. That is the amazing thing, doing meaningful work, even if it is hard and stressful, is far more rewarding then doing routine, semi easy work that has little to no impact or meaning.

Do the meaningful work if you can do it, even if it is tough as it is far more rewarding. Just something to think about today.

Survivor and Chet

Filed under: Current / General, Misc, Personal permalinktrackback — Team Swap @ 9:13 am

Well it is about time. FINALLY CHET WENT HOME LAST NIGHT ON SURVIVOR.

Yes I know myself, my wife, and our Thursday crew of 4 more are the last 6 people in the US watching Survivor, but that is fine as we still enjoy the show. I personally dislike American Idol (once the tryouts of BAD singers are done) and Dancing With Stars so THERE!!

Anyway, I thought that getting Joel out last week was a good move, and I enjoyed that he was back doored just like he had done to Mikey B (another strong player) the week before. Getting Joel gone did take a strong player out for the future, but it really weakened that team. It almost guarantees a few more looses if the challenges are physical. Again though he (Joel) had helped weaken the team himself the week before so I think it was all fair in the end.

My real question is HOW DID CHET LAST THIS LONG? This guy has to be one of the weakest players from day one that I have ever seen and he kept sticking around. I know why, as they knew that they could send him home anytime, but it was still sad to see how bad this dude was out there. The fact that he is a pageant coach and knows a lot about raising chickens is just a cool fact and gives him one of the most interesting skill sets I have seen in a while. Joel and he did create a great quote though two weeks ago - “Chet: I hit my head, Joel: I don’t care, Chet: I know”

I did hate to see Jonathan head out due to injury. I have never liked his personality, but I always appreciated his work ethic and motivation of the team. He loves to play the game and he was doing well. I think he was right when he said that he had this game. It was sad to see a guy that really was enjoying the game and that was really strong go due to accident.

I think with Chet gone, Joel gone, Mikey B gone, it is just a matter of time until the rest of that team - sans Ozzy and Amanda - are gone. Cerrie will go soon, so will a few more on that team.

Kathy over on the other team is CRAZY!! The fact that she looks like D List star Kathy Griffen and list herself as a Golf Course Vendor (OK WHAT IS THAT - BEVERAGE CART DRIVER or PRO SHOP COUNTER GIRL?) is just more interesting. She is just one step from the loony farm though. She is always about to loose it. She goes when they loose next.
