Randities

John Norris Brown of the Appalachian Scribe has a very nice post up about how Ayn Rand and her thoughts on individualism have developed a cult like following. Like John Norris I find Rand’s thought on individualism to be good, but lacking morals and values. Rand’s followers though seem to respond to others that do not “properly respect” their views with a religious vigor. JNB’s post here

  3. As a teenager I was a Randite–literally read every single book she ever wrote. Even at the time, as an agnostic, I had trouble swallowing Rand’s militant atheism.
