Astana,The Giro, and the ASO
Well Contador is showing that win or lose this Giro he is a fighter. The same can be said of Astana overall.
With only one weeks notice, these guys come off of vacation and now have their leader in pink jersey going into the final week of what many consider the second biggest bike race in the world. Contador may have fallen into a TDF win last year (some would say that he was two years away even now) but he definitely is a true rider and a fighter. The fact that he climbs like a mountain goat and can do that Lance low gear high cadence climbing style just helps him.
ANYWAY, if, big IF, Contador wins this the ASO not letting a rebuilt and reconfigured team Astana in the Tour De France (with the winner and the guy that placed #3 overall in the last TDF on the team) this year will look even more foolish then it already is. Unfortunately, I think the ASO has dug their heels in now and regardless of the pressure and how it looks they will not go back now. Astana winning may just make the ASO dig in more. I think Astana as July off regardless now.
