New Diggs, Same Blog
Long time friend of Swap Blog Travis - formerly of Blue Collar Blogger - has set himself up a new blog. Travis is now found at Blog Of A Geek over at wordpress.com.
We congratulate Travis for moving from blogger (BOO BOO) to the far superior Wordpress platform. Give a man a A+ cert and he will begin making better tech choices right off the bat.
Now if we can just get him to stop playing with Apple branded toys he will be ready to conquer to world… or at least the part located near his lovely wife and child.
Seriously, go give Travis a visit at his new blog and say Hi.

Thank you for the post old friend.
I Know that your distaste for Apple runs deep as the ocean. Let me assure you that I will not endorse any product other than the iPhone. I must say that I enjoy and I am really looking forward to my new firmware update that will give me the GPS I long for. Like wise I cannot bring myself to be one of the sheep that follows Microsoft over the edge to the rocks 150 ft bellow(nor do I believe that you will). Linux? It is still Linux. Fast, reliable, but limited to those who do not want to write code. A perfect balance of all three would make for a great OS and PC! iLinsoft!
The beauty of Apples products and interface.
The stability and price of Linux.
The server side and features of Windows.
Can you write code?LOL

I know I can write code, but I think I would rather have the open source community develop it where I can “modify” it, not write it from the ground up.
Apple does make COOL stuff, i have never said they don’t. great toys and the iphone is wicked cool. Their computers though just don’t have the apps to run the world. That is my real knock on the Apple thing. They are appliances, not tools.
Linux is very cool and the apps are there, but main stream users are just not going to switch OS’s until they can do it seamlessly - and that includes networking and retrieving old PC based without having to know how to set up the code and the http and the ip, etc. Idiot proof it get Dell / HP to ship / support it and you will have a winner.
Microsoft is the master of marketing and no real advancement. They do not innovate, they replicate and duplicate. Vista is just too slow and bulky and there is just not enough improvement over XP in security, etc to justify the cost.
Personally I want to see OS/2 come back… LOL … those were the days.
Seriously Travis, you are a good friend, you do good work, and you are becoming a really good IT guy. I know God will bless your work and your life.
