Chrome Becomes Iron
Personally I like Chrome. I know that is launched strong (quickly getting over 1% of the web’s browser usage) but has now slipped back into a battle with Opera for 4th place in the browser wars. I think Google is playing the long game here, so short term numbers are not important, but time will tell.
Honestly, I use Chrome as much if not more as I use Firefox now as it launches quickly (i.e. it is small) and it gets me results quickly. With that said, there are numerous things I don’t like about it - bookmarks, flash issues, and control of tabs between the top three - but it has potential and when I need quick facts it is the quickest. Since it is in beta I hope that Chrome improves over time, but we will have to see.
Online one of the biggest complaints about Chrome is Google’s EULA which even after revision gives Google ALOT of access and use of your information, your data, your searches, etc. Since Chrome is open sourced though a German firm SRWARE has created Iron - A chrome direvitive minus all the Google right to access / track stuff. Maybe it will get some traction too.

I tried out Chrome. I like the fact that Chrome actually uses less resources than that of Firefox. However let it be known that an issue with Chrome’s security. Comodo discovered it when a buffer overflow was attempting to happen. To ensure that it was not a failed hit I reopened Chrome, went back the site I was at, and almost immediately Comodo sent off an alarm. I then researched it and this is known issue. I love the majority of googles products but I will have to give Chrome a little while before I make my final judgement on it. I think that over time it will grow into a contender.

Oh andf just to make it clear I attempted to access the same site on Firefox and IE. Both browsers were not affected.

Personally I have been on Iron now instead of Chrome since last Friday and I like it…some of the same issues with rendering sites but no call backs / report backs / call homes to Google, which means more privacy for me when I search for “KOFFICE FOR WINDOWS” at 3AM….LOL
