Spitfire sans The Devil & The Ace of Spades

Filed under: Current / General, Misc, Music permalinktrackback — Team Swap @ 4:28 pm

One of my co-workers told me today that her grandson was going a little devil this Halloween, but that the costume was called “Lil Spitfire” as to not to offend people. WOW….are we really to a point in society where even the term Devil is politically incorrect. Maybe next year the costume should be called Lil Firechild of The Inner Earth.

Adding to my mental torpor today I have found out that Hayseed Dixie covered Ace of Spades by Motorhead…WOW!!

More TDF Doping

Filed under: Current / General, News, Personal, Sports permalinktrackback — Team Swap @ 12:48 pm

James Raia writting for Examiner.com has a story up about the two latest cyclist to test positive for doping during the 2008 Tour De France (TDF). This time it was Leonardo Piepoli and Stefan Schumacher, and the doping count for 2008 is now at six (6). It seems CERA was used by both. Honestly Piepoli was not a surprise to me - considering his position with Saunier Duval / Richardo Rico, but Schumacher surprised me as his efforts looked to be human. Full story here

Skype, China, Monitoring & Security

Filed under: Current / General, News, Politics, Technology permalinktrackback — Team Swap @ 1:38 pm

ARStechnia has a interesting post up about how China is monitoring the skype text traffic and flagging some that discuss more “sensitive” issues for complete logging and monitoring. The data, including some security information, was on public servers. Within the data was usernames, land line numbers, passwords, etc. Story here

No real surprise here regarding the monitoring, since China is a communist nation run by a authoritarian regime, but Skype’s (which is owned by Ebay) working with them is what is disturbing to me. At some point you have to put basic human rights against profits.
