Skydrive Expansion @ live.com
Anyway that knows me knows that I am not a fan of the Redmond gang. XP SP3 and Outlook 2003 / 2007 are the only MS products that I personally like enough to use regularly. With that said, there is a new expansion / feature list over at Live.com (stories here, here, and here) and most of the news is about MS’s conversion to a Web2.0 type interface with expanded social networking options. Bottomline the Live.com interface allows you to share / gather info at a central point. That is ok I guess if you want that, but the Skydrive feature was what I cared about. That one is VERY VERY interesting to me. The Redmond gang is expanding the free Skydrive (online storage) capacity that comes with a Microsoft live account. Currently it is 5GB, but they are expanding it to 25GB soon. That is enough for me to carry about and actually use to move some of the data I am routinely transporting by other means now - jump drives, portable HD, laoptops, etc. To access live.com can use your old hotmail addy, create a new live.com addy or tie it to a email address you already have If you care about the social networking side of it then have at it, if you care about the Skydrive expansion I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU CHECK IT OUT!!
