Well Lance Armstrong confirmed that his riding the 2009 Tour De France. That should be a surprise to no one. The only real question left is who will be the main Astana rider - Armstrong or Contador. Levi Lepiheimer will be the main Lieutenant to either I bet, but I still think he could podium.

I see Astana using the 2008 TDF CSC three pronged attack model where you just keep sending threat after threat up the road until one works and the competition breaks. The problem will be Astana and Saxobank (i.e. CSC) will both be doing that so they may wear each other out. Short of a miracle though a Astana or Saxobank rider will win the 2009 Tour and the team of the winning rider will win the overall team award as well. The question now is which team / rider will win and if the winning team can take multiple podium positions/ awards.
